Shoving the knight out of the way, mister firebelly? Fine. *You* tank them.
Rudofaux 1st Jul 2018, 4:56 PM edit delete reply
IF the alchemist was able to do his job, there would be no need of a tank.

The best defense is OP splash damage
Worstcase 1st Jul 2018, 10:12 AM edit delete reply
looks like Ozzi will have to grab that sword from the bone pile and rescue himself this time...
Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:12 PM edit delete reply
Ew, it's probably sticky though
Garth MindFeather 1st Jul 2018, 9:38 PM edit delete reply
hahaha, it probably IS sticky! no telling what slimed all over it either. *save vs. spasmic hand rot*
Lurker 3rd Jul 2018, 5:34 PM edit delete reply
Given the fate of what I'm guessing was the previous owner of the sword, I'm not holding out much hope on this route.
scared192 1st Jul 2018, 12:20 PM edit delete reply
Shut up both of you and let the dwarf solve this mess.
pkrankow 1st Jul 2018, 12:41 PM edit delete reply
The dwarf is the only other team player here...
yetanotherguy 1st Jul 2018, 2:04 PM edit delete reply
The dwarf cannot bail them out every time, he is great, but he is still just one guy, and it is not right, sustainable or fair to just rely on him always throwing himself into the fire (literally and figuratively). Though I really hope he succeeds if he tries this time, at least to get Ozzy out such that they can find another group in the future, and hopefully have better luck and success with finding a good group they fit into well and that works.
Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:13 PM edit delete reply
I feel like that sentence is accidentally a reoccurring theme in this comic in general
Sturzkampf 1st Jul 2018, 12:47 PM edit delete reply
How rude! The Monsters are going to be really offended at being ignored like that.
Rudofaux 1st Jul 2018, 5:08 PM edit delete reply
The manners of adventures now a days. For shame.

"You guys need a minute, here?"
yetanotherguy 1st Jul 2018, 1:33 PM edit delete reply
Oh for all that is sane and right. They really, really should have straightened things out before.
Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:14 PM edit delete reply
>implying that they even could

(。々°) - Thanks for making this webcomic.

The cave may be the better place to fight in instead of out in the open.
Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:32 PM edit delete reply
No place is good to fight 17 gricks :(
padanew 2nd Jul 2018, 8:42 AM edit delete reply
There is the Ciaphas Cain maneuver. They could try that.
DaveP 2nd Jul 2018, 9:37 PM edit delete reply
Do you mean the "Let Jurgen sort it out" maneuver, or the "Run like buggery" maneuver?
padanew 3rd Jul 2018, 6:33 AM edit delete reply
The Run around screaming like a lunatic while waving your chain sword around.

But then again Jurgen almost always uses the Melta which would be very useful here.
Rudofaux 1st Jul 2018, 4:48 PM edit delete reply
Why did you bring an pyromaniac alchemist if you are not going to let him do his job? He's got a plan & it's a hot one.
Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:33 PM edit delete reply
That's a blue one he grabbed, though ;)
Rudofaux 1st Jul 2018, 10:09 PM edit delete reply
two-cycle gasoline is also blue.

good thing this is a practice level of the dungeon so they can get their team dynamics squared away

Rocktopus 1st Jul 2018, 6:36 PM edit delete reply
There are no practice levels in Marblegate; but there ARE levels that prey on your weaknesses ;)
Verycoolname 1st Jul 2018, 8:38 PM edit delete reply
I feel like a practice level would be useful. Nothing like setting themes and patterns to encourage stupidity later on.
...Not like these guys need help being stupid.
ErictheTolle 2nd Jul 2018, 3:30 AM edit delete reply
Somebody in the town above should set up a practice dungeon, with paper-mache monsters that have claws covered in paint. "See now, if you had been in the real dungeon, this is where you would have been eviscerated."

Not that it would help this bunch.
Worstcase 2nd Jul 2018, 9:17 AM edit delete reply
No it wouldn't, because that bunch would have said they are too qualified and cool for trying the kiddie-preparation level and would have straight gone in like they are now anyway.
AdamTutkus 2nd Jul 2018, 2:22 PM edit delete reply
That is a great idea. If I lived in the town above I'd get right on it. There's more than one way to make off of Marblegate.
Haegan2005 1st Jul 2018, 9:23 PM edit delete reply
You know, at this point I would debate leaving this group, if I survived the encounter. Darned qualifications!
Fel 2nd Jul 2018, 1:50 AM edit delete reply
Looks like a perfect opportunity for Colleen to show up, beat a few worm things to death, and then ask where her dwarf buddy went - to everyone else's astonishment.
Rudofaux 2nd Jul 2018, 7:01 AM edit delete reply
Doesn't fit Rocktopus storytelling style of what I've seen so far. He drops clues as to how to deal with the situation with the establishing shot. Also doesn't look like he would have deus ex machina events in this stories.

But such an event would get a chuckle out of me.
Rocktopus 2nd Jul 2018, 8:47 PM edit delete reply
That'd be something, huh?
Landvaettr 2nd Jul 2018, 9:28 AM edit delete reply

Packless1 5th Jul 2018, 7:06 PM edit delete reply
