Hey guys, just a heads up; I'm currently working 2 jobs for the summer to help pay the bills.

I'm still working on Marblegate every day, but I'm not able to finish the pages on time with a 60 hour work week.

I'm going to need to take a week off of uploading pages as soon as this chapter is done; just to catch up on pages for my Patrons.

As always, thanks so much for reading!

Sad that Marblegate will be going away for a bit, but I understand.

Glad that at least it was sacrificed so the group could start working together.

It's just for a week, no worries!

Do what you've got to do. In webcomics as in gaming, sometimes real life gets in the way.

I haven't had time to game in a long, long time (
I miss it

A sanity break is important.

While it is good these fools sorta got it together, I was kinda hoping for spectacular failure.

Well, I'm not really taking a break, I'm still working on it everyday. It's more a case of there not being enough hours in the day to do a webcomic AND a full-time job AND a part time job AND still get 6 hours of sleep

Hard to beat a regular good night of sleep. Take care of yourself.

A week off? No worries. Most people take at least a month off between chapters.

Yeah, I've seen a few webcomics take a "break" that ended up lasting 9 years :P
I don't ever want to be like that with Marblegate

Ah, if only we could pay the bills by gathering loot from a seemingly-infinite dungeon filled with horrific monsters and deadly traps. Uh...actually maybe that's not such a good thing to want. At any rate, great page, and I'll look forward to the next one whenever it's done.

Tell me about it; if I had the money I'd quit my job and work on Marblegate full-time.

One day...

Hey Rocktopus, No worries. We all had life get on our way of doing things. Take your time, we'll be here.

It's cool if you need a break. Also, make sure that you don't get so caught up with work that it wears you down.
Rocktopus 20th Jul 2018, 7:06 PM edit delete reply
Rocktopus
Work wearing you down to the breaking point is part of being a comic artist is :P

Hey, I've followed webcomics that have disappeared for months, in some cases years. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself- I'll be here.

Rocktopus
Don't worry, I don't plan to disappear that long; I have patrons who support me and it'd be unfair to them if I did

Also, Ozzy asks a really good question here.

Well, it's not really time off; I'm still working every waking hour, but I have to shift focus to paid work or I'm going to end up on the street :P

Has the party hit a dead end there btw.? Because the little cave seemed relatively shallow.
They likely will have to enccounter the dire alligator - or what else exactly it was on their way back. I doubt they will want to waste their town portal scroll while they are still relatively close to the exit and there is no obvious unexplored path left. Sure they could build a raft from debris and try to get through the froblin sewers, but they seemed not too keen on it so starting over with a new map might appeal more to them.

Have some good spare time there Rocktopus.

Looks like they'll have to head back & have another go sewer spelunking.

There was also a third path by the entrance that they haven't taken yet :)

I vote for an episode involving the dire alligator. I realize it was probably put in just for dramatic effect, but I sorta see it as a kind of Chekhov's gun that must get fired at some point.

It's not really a break; more like shifting to paid work for a little bit.

I haven't taken a day off in 2 years :P

Well, covering your expenses is important, and other webcomic artists, professional or not, do take short and planned breaks from time to time. You're definitely a great artist and writer, so I hope you will get great success in the future. My own economic situation has recently gotten better, so I have begun to contribute on Patreon, something that I had wanted to do for a while.

Reg. the website, since you are very busy, I might take a look at whether ComicFury supports converting from the current layout handling to HTML-based or some other method when I have the time, if you won't mind it of course. In any case, the important part of transferring or converting such things is to have backups of all relevant parts somewhere safe and reliable, and to have time and methods to go back in case something goes wrong. I will report if I figure something out.

Thank you so much for contributing! It's a massive help for me when people support me on patreon!

I'm actually thinking about eventually moving from ComicFury to a wordpress site using Comicpress, since I've sort of outgrown the need for the comic fury hosting site.

But that won't be for a while. Thanks again so much for your support.

Sorry to hear about your two jobs man.
