That was my reaction when I first read D&D 4th edition.

Entomophobia? Claustrophobia? Nyctophobia? Are you quite sure you want to be a Dungeoneer?
Rocktopus 11th Oct 2018, 7:01 PM edit delete reply

You'd probably have to be a mentally broken person to actually enjoy dungeon-delving if we're being honest.

I'd agree, if it wasn't for real life people being addicted to war and the like.
Lurker 16th Oct 2018, 5:59 PM edit delete reply
People are addicted to war only because they fight indirectly. Those who are in the actual fighting have PTSD from the trauma, and would have to have criminal-class mental issues to actually enjoy it.

Ya I think the dungeon is a reality TV show. The funnier and more dangerous the adventure the higher the rating.

It's Fort Boyard!

Fools! The gameshow is none other than Knightmare, hosted by Dungeon Master Treguard!
DocMesa 11th Oct 2018, 9:06 PM edit delete reply
Knightmare was glorious. I miss it.

I had to look up Knightmare. That show would've been awesome to see here in the states.

Somehow, Knightmare kinda reminds me of Adventure Call.

Just a bit.

"A pit, with centipedes, the crawly, bity, inquisitive ones" Its creepy how much in sync my GM is with the Marblegate... (maybe thats how Marblegate materialises in different worlds? At first it takes over the minds of Game Masters Cthulhlu style, and they summon it when the stars are right?)

That seems like a lot of work do you have a team of gnome forced to do your biding?
io 11th Oct 2018, 8:28 PM edit delete reply
In spelunking a tight place like that is called a squeeze. Centipede bites are very unpleasant I don't blame her for a somewhat intense decrease in morale. However nil desperandum the way forward is often the way back.

Yeah, that would freak me the heck out too...

forget 11 feet; break out the Macedonian pike

So much for the silent approach...
Well I don't really blame her.
But they should be ready to fend off every monster that was within hearing range storming in now.

Making her scream to attract monsters was part of the trap... this dungeon might be playing 4-d chess with it's dungeoneers
Edmund 12th Oct 2018, 3:01 AM edit delete reply
This is exactly how someone with legitimate claustrophobia would react. No "I dislike tight spaces therefore I am claustrophobic" bull.
Its just: "GOD, MY CLAUSTROPHOBIA. PANIC ATTAAAAAAACK!!"
Well done.

Judging by how she's already wedged in the narrowest throat of the hole by her pack, tells me this is a very narrow hole.

But seeing as this trap plays more on her psyche over physical harm. Mayhaps these rooms are sentient.

I'm sure she's glad she bought that bag, either way!

Maybe that's what the owners of all those skulls did...
Lurker 17th Oct 2018, 11:06 PM edit delete reply
It's rather disturbing to imagine how those skulls wound up *embedded* in the wall. Ick. Better not think too much more about this!
Packless1 14th Oct 2018, 9:33 AM edit delete reply
Claustrophobic and goes int Dungeons...?
Is this s.k.o. confrontation therapy...?
Hardcore...! :O
This needs a lot of guts...!
I rather would try a dark broom-chamber first...!

It's not therapy, but hopefully it has the same effect; or at least not the opposite one!

I'm definitely hearing Ashley Johnson voicing Colleen. She's doing some sort of Gretchen (from Recess) reprise.

Who stuck all those skulls in the walls of that trap?
