Scary thought: what if there are traps in the floor outside the path? While they are busy fighting this giant centipede, they might inadvertently step off the path and trigger a trap.
I just found your comic last month and I have to say the story and artwork are both amazing and so compelling. I always look forward to the next page and I'm always wowed. Keep up the awesome work!
Yeah, money's always tight.
Artists and comic makers don't generally make nearly as much money on Patreon as video games and youtubers (unless they make porn).
I'm very happy and appreciative of the people who do support me, though.
It was not a trap. No traps here not a one. It is an ambush! Not a bush by the road. Not an Amway dealing waiting for you. Just an attack nothing to see here please move along.
Monsterous Centipede. Looks... Huge? Gargantuan? I'm going to say Huge to be conservative but those are only CR 2 so it either has a gimmick(likely given the mushrooms) or that's a gargantuan one and the "DM" hates them mightily.
Good luck you two, your going to be making lots of saves this fight!
The adder "in this situation" makes the proliferation of rule #1s more understandable. What the dwarf is saying is that there are not only many rules, but that they are context dependent and do not have a permanent numerical ranking. Rather, it's important to understand which rule is more relevant in any given situation and thus should be elevated to Rule #1.
Large open space. Treasure in sight.
Should have known it was a boss room.
Gonna be more of a fight if they must stay on the path.
It's a bit ironic to point it out now but It's bugging me.

He is bad at explaining things.
Although to mention yet another rule 1 of dugeoneering, simpler doesn't mean easier.
