Henceforth their new nicknames shall be "Wack" and "Hack", or "Wack 'n Hack", for short.
Photomaginarium 9th Feb 2019, 12:17 AM edit delete reply
or Ram Poof Wack N' Hack?
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:47 PM edit delete reply
Wack n' Hack sounds like an 80's arcade cabinet

The giant worm is receiving just pun-ishment! :-D
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:48 PM edit delete reply

ErictheTolle 9th Feb 2019, 10:29 PM edit delete reply
Based on this video of rams fighting, apparently "Klonk". Which honestly doesnt sound as good.
Lurker 11th Feb 2019, 6:25 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, "klonk" just sounds ... klonky. :-D

"Ram" is way better, if for nothing else than the pun value. :-D
Haegan2005 9th Feb 2019, 2:57 AM edit delete reply
A triumphant end to the fight!

Can't wait for the reveal of what the whole fungi theme of this chapter will turn out to be. I'm pretty sure it has to be more than just the author being in general a fun guy... :-D
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:46 PM edit delete reply
They're a symbol of Colleen's struggle with doubt ;)
Guest 9th Feb 2019, 4:20 AM edit delete reply
What a pain in the neck.
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:42 PM edit delete reply
Nah, that'll release the tension right out
Rudofaux 9th Feb 2019, 4:28 AM edit delete reply
Ether Rundaulf's strength stat is high or that is one well dwarf-crafted axe.
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:41 PM edit delete reply
Yes and yes
Dreadder 9th Feb 2019, 7:41 PM edit delete reply
Well, he is a dwarf, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't both (though granted, strength was second to endurance with dwarves, if my memory serves correctly).
StLOrca 9th Feb 2019, 5:06 AM edit delete reply
Colleen casts spell BACKDAFUKUP. It’s super effective!
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:41 PM edit delete reply
Almost as effective as KOMATMEBRO

sketch from the classic muppet show trudge, trudge streak, streak reminds me of adventurers
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:39 PM edit delete reply
Ah, I see now
Bookeater_otaku 9th Feb 2019, 4:04 PM edit delete reply
Sorry to nitpick but Randolph axe seems to small to cleanly cut off the whole head like that. Especialy with an overhead hit like that. Maybe we are not seeing the bit still attached to the rest of the body by the big spray of hemolymph. Which look a bit too brown and tick... did the mushroom infection do that too?
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:39 PM edit delete reply
Yes, the brown "blood" is part of the infection.

He's already give that neck a good hack at least once
Oldarmourer 10th Feb 2019, 12:43 AM edit delete reply
It took three hits to completely behead Mary Queen of Scots kneeling quietly at the block so taking two for that slightly larger and definitely better armoured insect, fighting back all the while, aren't unreasonable at all. Guess he rolled low for damage both times ;)
padanew 9th Feb 2019, 4:09 PM edit delete reply
No one ever thinks to bring some DDT when raiding a dungeon. It keeps the small bugs off you and kill big bugs dead!
Rocktopus 9th Feb 2019, 4:37 PM edit delete reply
Is there an equivalent to insecticide in RPG's?
Lurker 9th Feb 2019, 4:58 PM edit delete reply
If there isn't, there should be! Like a spell called... Insecticide? :-D Or more likely, Repel Insects. Or Insect Turning. :-D There should be entire branches of magic dedicated to eradicating insects, just like there entire branches of magic dealing with undead.
Lurker 9th Feb 2019, 5:00 PM edit delete reply
And while we're on the topic, there should be entire branches of magic dealing with fungi too. Perhaps this whole level was the result of a renegade priest of the Mycological Cult experimenting with spells like Summon Fungus, Create Fungi-Zombie, and Let's Have Fun, Gus!
chris-tar 9th Feb 2019, 7:08 PM edit delete reply
A Dungeon "RAID"? ha ha
padanew 10th Feb 2019, 4:35 AM edit delete reply
There was that one quest in Baldur's Gate where you had to kill some giant spiders in a house the home owner was on his way to get some poison for killing the spiders.
Lurker 12th Feb 2019, 5:52 PM edit delete reply
It always amuses me how RPGs (at least as far as the video game versions are concerned) seem to love to make an epic mountain of a quest out of the molehill of common household pests.

Like a rat infestation in the basement where said rats turn out to be 6 feet long and wearing armor and wielding daggers, with a rabid sword-brandishing Were-Rat Boss at the far end of the basement hording incredible amounts of gold coins (who knows what the rats want with the money... spend them at the local Rat Market?).

Or a spider infestation complete with tarantulas, spitting spiders, and a scorpion boss. (Really? All that just to clear a few cobwebs from some random residential house in Noob Town?)

Or a moss infestation where the moss moves and multiplies by dividing, and wants to eat you for breakfast.

Or an ant infestation where the ants are 4 feet tall, have a poisonous bite, and armor to rival scale male, led by a Soldier Ant orders of magnitude larger than their real-world African counterparts giving orders to lower-level ants like a mob boss.

Makes you wonder what kind of dystopian crapsack universe these RPG heroes live in. :-D

Oldarmourer 12th Feb 2019, 10:54 AM edit delete reply
and now...the mini-boss loot !!!!
what will it be ? besides a gem ?
a magical mace ?
an arcane axe ?
a stupendous shield ?
gold ? jewels ? dwarven ale ?

the answers to all these and more when we return to...

"Dungeons of Our Lives" or..."As the Wyrm Turns"
Lurker 12th Feb 2019, 5:44 PM edit delete reply
I wonder if that gem is cursed... you know how these things go. Almost get yourself killed just to clear the hordes of monsters guarding the ancient temple, and earn that magnificent gem sitting on the ancient altar of unknown purpose, only to discover later on that it's cursed, and you've brought the curse upon yourself.
Sturzkampf 12th Feb 2019, 7:32 PM edit delete reply
But their wild exultation was suddenly checked when... the whip tailed centipede exploded and sprayed Ms Colleen with decaying innards. Again.
Lurker 13th Feb 2019, 1:09 AM edit delete reply
Hahaha... yeah that *would* be quite the smack in the face for Colleen.
