Hey guys! Regarding future updates:
So after discussing it with both my Patrons and with people here on the main site, the overwhelming consensus is that people would prefer an update once a week on the same day rather than once every 5-6 days.

My original vision was to have 2 new pages a week, but as the art improves, pages are getting more complicated to draw. And on top of a tight financial budget requiring me to focus on commission work, it's just getting tougher and tougher to meet that. Eventually, I'd like to work on Marblegate full-time, and at that point I'd like to get 3 pages out a week. But until that day comes, I'll have to make due with the time that I have.

So here's the plan from now on: Marblegate updates EVERY Friday from now on! I will use the extra time to catch up on my page backlog, do commission work, and hopefully create some more concept art and lore (which my $5 patrons will get to see a month in advance).

If you have any issues, questions or concerns, please let me know. And as always, thank you so, so much for reading Marblegate! I love this story and I love making comics; thank you all so much for the opportunity to do something I've wanted to do since childhood.

Sounds like a great plan! Good luck with commission work.
Does this mean there will be an update this Friday? Or will it be next Friday??

I think the new plan is a great idea. Good luck.

As for this page... is dwarf baldness a thing or its just pure luck that we have two on the same page? Do dwarf bald early, thus having recentment towards species with flowing locks in their old age?

And why do I feel since Colleen just had a gain in confidence, that letter will only bring bad news?
Rocktopus 19th Feb 2019, 12:59 AM edit delete reply
Bald is just a popular hair style for male dwarves; it makes the beard look bigger and more impressive

Colleen is so adorable here—you really did a great job with her wide-eyed confident self.

Aw thanks!

I'm actually kinda glad that is has a set date now, so I know when to check back and see the next page, and I amlove the series so far and the art style. Can't wait and see what happens, like what she purchased and what the letter contains. Also I was thinking about getting a commission of my D&d character when you reopen them.
Rocktopus 20th Feb 2019, 1:52 AM edit delete reply
Sure, I'll be opening commissions again soon

Most all letters from home are good news. Except when they are not.

Fixed dates are easier on the head and easier to organize browser bookmarks by ;)

Still going to have to check in daily to vote and see if there's an 'extra' though.

Spell descriptions and things like that are nice touches if you want some hints to get a lore post started, it might get as popular as the comic, given the amount of detail already dropped into the comments...

I'm thinking of doing extra stuff; just a matter of time and whatnot

I for one want to know more about the magic glasses that do all the checks when they come out of the portals.

Now we see a bit of her past and the reason a wide eyed former shepherdess is engaging in an extreme past time as adventuring.
Rocktopus 20th Feb 2019, 1:53 AM edit delete reply
That's the plan for the next chapter!

I have a question about the future. You mentioned in a previous comment that "Who would want to team up with the alcoholic dwarf who is considered a joke of an adventurer in this city" (or something like that), and it got me thinking. We know that you already have plan for the full and definitive party but will there be others who will try to join Randolph and Colleen before, let's say, Ozzi?

With him, we are already seeing the problem a dysfunctional party can have and probably lead to a break up or a wipeout. But I am kind of interested into seeing Colleen dealing with a teammates that she CAN'T seem to work with despite her and Randolph best efforts.

It's seems like a very formating experience to get as an adventurer and Randolph experience on the matter could be enlightening. And I don't think the group Colleen was part of at the beginning of the story count since they have not gone into the dungeon together.

Those are good questions, but I can;t say anything without giving spoilers

If you wanted to throw something else out there - Orc and Gnome does Lore pages and mini comics. I don't know how well a mini comic would fit, but I do know that I would LOVE to see Lore pages with no schedule. I Can't be the only one hoping For Something Like that.
Rocktopus 20th Feb 2019, 9:06 PM edit delete reply
I've been thinking about that, yeah
Oldarmourer 22nd Feb 2019, 3:17 PM edit delete reply
I was going to suggest that very thing but some artists don't like having other comics mentioned on theirs..others do, I just play it safe until I know ;)
Sohtes 24th Feb 2019, 11:54 PM edit delete reply
Whoops, hadn't thought about that. I... generally just lurk, this is about the only place I've commented - Marblegate is just that good :)

I love Colleen, she's such a sweet kid, and Randolph, for all his faults, is a good mentor for her, as much for what he does wrong as what he does right. I look forward to every update with your great and detailed art, Rocktopus. Keep up the great storytelling, you're better than Marvel and DC combined in my opinion. :)

I've just re-read the comic for the third time. I love the art, story, and worldbuilding. And those detailed backgrounds, that's a rare thing in webcomics.
Keep up the good work, I'll support on Patreon as soon as my seasonal income starts to flow in. :)
