So lack of oxygen and light bleeding make you hallucinate naked dude in this universe. Noted.
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 6:03 AM edit delete reply
I think it does that in our universe, too.
Or maybe that's just me.

6 wings, probably 4 faces, some sort of cross between a cherubim and seraphim?
SenseiLeRoof 8th Jul 2019, 4:44 PM edit delete reply
A serub!
("-im" is a plural suffix) ^_^
Anonymouse 11th Jul 2019, 4:17 PM edit delete reply
A Cherasera ?
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 6:00 AM edit delete reply
Something like that ;)

Is this a specific type of angel that serves the Highfather, or is this a more general type, since we've seen him in your art before?
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:53 AM edit delete reply
The existence and nature of angels is mysterious and largely inscrutable by the people of this comic's world. "Types" of angels are unknown to mortals, and appearances of them vary tremendously with no consistent pattern other than have "traditional" angelic features such as halos, wings, and abnormal numbers of eyes.

Some theorize their appearance is unique to each angel. Others think their appearance is fluid, changes between each person they appear to, and is merely metaphorical for whatever message the angel is currently trying to convey. Some insist that there are whole different species of angels with their own ecosystem. Some think angels are amalgamations of various living things that have died and merged with the Highfather. Some think they are merely small pieces, like skin flakes or hairs, that have been shed from the divine body of the Highfather.

No one knows.

An old song that strikes me as relevant to this page.
Dreadder 5th Jul 2019, 5:41 PM edit delete reply
Sigh, please tell me you didn't just describe one of Boss's post 2000 songs as old...

Guess I truly am getting old myself.

Yessir, we had it rough growing up back in the day -- they world wasn't even in color, yet ;)

Less eyes than I was expecting, but at least there's not too few.
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:13 AM edit delete reply
There will be eyes, do you worry ;)

...Colleen...the force strong in her it is...! ;-)
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:12 AM edit delete reply
Missed the chance to have a blue jedi spirit of her dad following her around. Damn.
Leatherhead 5th Jul 2019, 6:50 PM edit delete reply
Not going to lie, I thought the dad was going to die.

Which would have lead to Colleen's Mom having a breakdown. In turn having the kids shipped off to the church orphanage. Where Colleen would have seen a miracle working priest(es), and decided to make those protection powers work for herself so that she would never be put in such a situation again.
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:12 AM edit delete reply
Too many orphan stories in fantasy, if you ask me!
Packless1 7th Jul 2019, 1:48 PM edit delete reply true...!
Pixel-wiz 5th Jul 2019, 6:54 PM edit delete reply
What's the difference between Colleen praying to the Highfather and her holding the cross?
Vulcan 5th Jul 2019, 9:10 PM edit delete reply
In most RPGs divine casters need a holy symbol to focus their casting...
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:11 AM edit delete reply
Vulcan has the "technically" correct reason.
But as for the lore reason, well... we'll see.
BornOnTheNinth 5th Jul 2019, 10:35 PM edit delete reply
I'm glad Colleen's father didn't die in this scene. And it makes sense that a miracle and an angelic vision would cause her to devote herself to the faith.
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:10 AM edit delete reply
She has a habit of seeing angels in dire moments ;)
DocMesa 5th Jul 2019, 11:36 PM edit delete reply
*raises hand* Am I the only one that thinks that angel thing is creepy?
Gatora 6th Jul 2019, 12:06 AM edit delete reply
No, it's minorly unsettling to me as well.
Andrew_C 6th Jul 2019, 12:44 AM edit delete reply
Angels traditionally struck awe and terrified. At least it's not an ophanim
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:09 AM edit delete reply
There are Ophanims in this world's mythology too.
Packless1 7th Jul 2019, 4:55 PM edit delete reply
Especially the angels from 'Neon-Genesis-Evangelion' ;-)
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:09 AM edit delete reply
That was the idea!
Packless1 6th Jul 2019, 11:44 AM edit delete reply
The 'Nice Guy' has 3 faces and hooves...!
In some cultural contexts this is more the meme of the 'Not so nice Guy'...!
(buzzword: 'Pitchfork' ;-)
Vulcan 7th Jul 2019, 8:22 PM edit delete reply
If you've read the Bible you'll note every time an angel appears in it's true form, the very first thing it tells the current protagonist is 'fear not'. Every. Single. Time.

Clearly Biblical angels are not something the human mind is intended to consider 'comfortable'.
chris-tar 6th Jul 2019, 3:48 AM edit delete reply
Is that a Seraphim?
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:08 AM edit delete reply
Something like that ;)

Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:08 AM edit delete reply
It gets harder!
Bookeater_otaku 6th Jul 2019, 4:11 AM edit delete reply
Just realized. There is still a heavy beam of wood directly above them that's suspended in the air by the thin will of God. You STILL have problems guys! Situation not optimal!
Rocktopus 6th Jul 2019, 5:08 AM edit delete reply
This is true!
Lisekmaly 6th Jul 2019, 10:15 AM edit delete reply
I must admit this Angel/Seraphim scares me a bit, it has that otherworldiness vibe, and the eyes.I guess thats why they usually say "Fear not." when visiting mortals...
