The friar has "Man Boobs".

A high carb diet of potatoes and lamb meat, plus a sedentary lifestyle of a monk will do that to a person!

Being short doesn't help, either.

What a detailed and interesting way to heal.

The people in Colleen's village act like they are in a low magic setting. It's a bit jarring compared to the rest of the setting's high magic.
Fel 26th Jul 2019, 6:10 PM edit delete reply
It's worth noting that the high-magic we've been seeing has centered solely around the marblegate; maybe magic is otherwise extremely rare outside of the few cases where a kingdom can exploit the gate?
Rocktopus 26th Jul 2019, 7:04 PM edit delete reply
Correct! Magic is actually somewhat rarer in this world. Marblegate is a special exception. It's a place where heroes and magically inclined people form all over the world come to test themselves. Also, Marblegate is controlled by the six Arch Wizards who run Arclight College (which is a giant magic academy that serves as both a magical university, and a politically neutral "United Nations" of sorts). Their many students are seen all over the town throughout the comic. They are usually there interning as part of their course, and wear distinct Intern Robes. These guys:

More on all this in much later chapter :)

The bottom third panel flow threw me off first time I read it, but then I noticed the split in the middle.
Rocktopus 26th Jul 2019, 7:10 PM edit delete reply
Panel Split? Are you sure there just isn't a giant Friar Andrew looming above them? ;)

"He asked me all sorts of strange questions that I didn't understand."

Friar Andrew: "Are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?"
Colleen: "I... what does that have to do with my vision?"
Friar Andrew: "Probably nothing. I don't understand it either, but Duke Frankfurt insists that we ask."

The reddish area on the pin is larger than his finger. Either he pierced fully through it, or it's actually reddish because it's rusted. I'm not sure which interpretation is more painful.
MajorDZaster 27th Jul 2019, 10:33 PM edit delete reply
She's about to heal it, so it's probably fine either way.
