But joke aside, there is some good development and information on that page. Will get a bit deeper in the lore between High and Wood elves? And we get to see some more personalities of the characters, nice going.
Huh... nobody is watching the levers for the gates right? Oh boy, if there are any little ones still hiding, they could free Mister Tall and Hungry!
And I wonder at what frequency the loot a group find is actually useful enough to keep... Might depends on one need for cash or even if it fit. Like you find a boot of +4 speed but it's a size 8 and you wear 13...
I mean, I imagine these gates are quite heavy - just because pulling a lever in one direction causes them to fall doesn't mean pulling it I the opposite one will magically pull then up. Unless there is actual magic involved, of course, which it very well might.
Oooh.He was a high-elf... Aren't those guys rich? Like the Windsor family or something? Perhaps Sernaeus renounced his inheritance along with his name?
So did the wood elves pull a prank on him by omitting the cuirass part, or are wood elven armors effectively topless, without protection for the heart and lungs? It's not like covering up the torso necessarily hinders mobility. (It's the joints that are hard to protect effectively while preserving mobility, hence combat tactics to exploit weak points in armor such as stabbing the inside of the armpits.)
If wood elves fight topless, does that also apply to their women?
PS: something optimized for ranged combat would have the quiver on the belt, not in the back. On the back it's okay for carrying them during your travel, but for shooting arrows quickly you'll want them in a more accessible place, you can be so much faster if they're on your hips than if they're behind your back.
Disagree. A back quiver allows you to draw the arrow from the quiver directly onto the bow. A hip quiver requires slipping the arrow past your bow arm, and is slower. Witness most speed shooters use a back quiver.
Since he is/was a high elf, he might not know a lot about being a wood elf. His armor might be based on a romanticized view of what wood elves are or should be like instead of what they are actually like.
> He's wearing an archery arm guard on the arm that pulls the bowstring back, not the one holding the bow.
Wow.
So, he might be naturally really talented for shooting the bow, since else he might have figured out (through pain during training) where the archery arm guard should be...
... but he likely also has no or very little archery training...
... and now he's at Marblegate where even minor mistakes might end up being fatal for himself and others...
But, then again, you don't go to war with the army you want, you go to war with the army you have. And despite the various short-comings, the party has had a considerable amount of success (such as trapping a shark ogre :- ) ). That said, Sera getting a bit of training, or at least the others knowing of his lack of training such that they could take precautions for it, would not be bad for their party. There are of course other aspects and issues.
What if things like chainmail bikinis, fur loincloths, and whatever it is that Sera is wearing were the equivalent of tournament armour or dress uniforms; martial-style attire that is not intended to be worn in combat and would be a liability if it were. Adventurers going into known danger zones put on more sensible gear, but wear the fancy stuff when off-duty or going around town. However, since the exotic apparel is what most ordinary people see them wearing, this creates a popular misconception that adventurers actually wear that into battle.
This is apparently not the case in the Marblegate universe, but it would be an interesting idea to explore.

I love the way she tells it like it is and the "And then there's THIS asshole" expression.
More on that in the future.

Please note, yes, this is period accurate, but, not 100% thing, not everyone did it.

Make of that what you will.

That girl completely gets him and it upsets his elvish-manliness.
