If he isn't taking them for a ride, then this is a train crash in slow motion. I mean, seriously, what are you doing Sera? Could someone give him a stern talking to? Or a bucket of water, applied from the top?
As far as I can see, Ozzy and Ox can definitely keep a secret, but no way Alex can. And what if there are others in the war bank that can overhear them?
... what if Sera has shared this secret repeatedly in the past?
Also the increasingly flabbergasted faces of Ozzy on this and the previous page are hilarious.
I would be surprised if he didn't care, but it definitely cannot be ruled out. Was he raised very poorly, by his family or his society? Or is he incredibly dense in some regards?
I recall something about the elves attempting to create their own goddess, but the results ultimately being a failure and haunting, and this might have had ramifications on their society. There might also be other sources for any affects on their societies. Societies can be vulnerable and fragile, and protecting a given society from the various possible kinds of dangers might be very important if the society is to survive and prosper.
or the elf's filter (the one between his brain and his mouth) got clogged over time.
or maybe elves don't have one
the alchemist apparently burnt his out testing potions...
"You humans and your cute little secrets -- do you realize the average elf outlives the average human by about ten-times the years? humans with secrets are a lot like, well, puppies and kittens with secrets. its just so cute! and you'll be dead any day now, so try not to think about it. i mean a secret that only lasts a few decades, if that. why bother? wait -- are you dying right here? oh no, that was just you burping. sometimes it's hard for an elf to tell what the hell is going on with you humans. i thought you were dead for sure."
Do high elves see secrets as "something to grow out of" due to their long lives? Because most secrets will likely be revealed sooner or later either way and are therefore not that important? Someone wiser than Sera ought to be quick to recognize that things are different for species with shorter life spans, but Sera is not exactly a wellspring of insight...
That sort of injury would likely weaken the muscles on that side as well, making it harder to use a weapon in that hand...
post-mastectomy or even just lymph node removal can weaken the chest muscles a lot and those are as important or moreso than arm muscles for lifting things
Now I have to go back to see which hand she uses her sword in although a shield is heavier.
I doubt her boobs would do much of anything to slow the impact, but....
most weapons, including lances, only penetrate plate armour a very short distance, that's what saves you and also why maces and warhammers work better against plate than swords since they aren't intended to penetrate, although a military pick works well against a helmet...
given that there would be a slightly greater distance between the armour plate and her actual rib cage (but not that much greater) the point may well have stopped not quite as far in as for a male, but there are the usually heavier male pectoral muscles and larger ribs to take into account as well so, all things considered, it's up to the writer to decide how her armour works :)
I often look at comments and find them interesting, yours included (such as with the amazon, I did not know that part of mythology about them), without actually having a response to it.
It is kind of funny, because it is often the case for forums and comment sections that interesting comments frequently do not get responses, while replies that are baiting for answers often get responses (I don't see much baiting here, more on other forums and the like).
There's no upvote buttons or other reactions here (for better or worse, of course :- ) ).
Thanks! I admit that sometimes I try to get a response from our illustrious leader Rocktopus, and if I can't, I find that a donation to the comic here and there encourages a response. Hee Hee.
Don't worry, it will stay a secret - at least until Alchemist boy makes jokes about 'bad balance', 'one sided attraction', 'slipping stuffing' and the like at the next best opportunity x_x 'Cause I can't see him not getting back at her for the 'no smoking in the dungeon' rule.
Given his regular boorish and pompous behavior, and her embarassing him in front of the group, however innocently it might have been, I rather doubt that anything he says is either trustworthy or rooted in someone else's best interest. All that is to say, you could be right, but I doubt he regards her feelings that highly, especially since what he's just told them will hurt her feelings whether it's true or untrue.
Payback for the comments Marigold came with? You might well be right, though that kind of payback would as far as I can tell be horrible and completely disproportionate and unfair.
I am beginning to think the people commenting on previous pages reg. the group dissolving in the future, possibly in a (very) bad way, might have been right...
In the 1995 rendition of Pride & Prejudice, Lydia just sort of discloses the secret that Mr Darcy was present at her wedding to a few people. Then she's like 'I wasn't supposed to tell anybody.'
Sounds familiar.
If you lose an arm or leg it is a bad thing. If you lose a body part that is a part of your identity (either male or female) it is even worse. If she is very sensitive about it I would not mention ever again. Wound infections are often the largest killer of soldiers in times past. She may be saving up for a restoration spell to replace her missing part. (Can't find the name of the spell. Anyone know what spell that is?)
In D&D, it is Regenerate.

hmmm, now that two directly connected synapses fired at once...
is that a quote from 'Bored of the Rings' ? so many good ones there I can't remember them all...
Yep, copied from inspired by that heretical work 'Bored of the Rings', although the original was 'never trust a dwarf or elf as far you can throw 'em'.
The thing is, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a warrior's scar. BTW, I've been in social nudist situations with a 70-something who had a double mastectomy. She has nice pecs!
and I had one lousy axial lymph node removed over ten years ago and it still affects that arm and side...no idea how my mother handled over a dozen gone
In the last few pages we've seen Alexus the alchemist without his leather pilot's hat on, and learnt that he looks a lot like Ozzi. The big difference between them is that Alexus has brown hair and Ozzi has black.
But in the banner image at the top of the page Ozzi (at least I've always *assumed* it's Ozzi) has brown hair. It it actually Alexus in disguise?
Similar, but not the same. Ozzi has a thinner face with a pointy chin, different ears, nose, eyes and hairstyle, aside from his differences in clothing and choice of weapons.
nope, just a sloppy doppelganger...kill it with fire...
no wait, it likes fire...kill it with acid...
no wait, from the way it sucks on that pipe, it probably likes acid...kill it with water

Now taking applicants for elven bandmembers, mutes preferred...
Or maybe he just can't help but tell the truth in everything ? nnaaahhh...
