What a beautiful page. There is SO MANY details! There is knickknacks everywhere, all kind of different stuff but everything is well organized. As mage lab goes, this is a great one.
Thanks! They are little magical laboratory helpers that high-ranking Wizards have to help cut down the immense amount of time it takes to do complex arcane magic.
That's a good question. Maybe a part of the front of the desk are two doors, one for each side of the bookcase? Maybe the doors can swing out? Or maybe slide? It might also be a magical way. Though, the front of the desk does not really fit with the dimensions of sliding doors, and there are no (visible) lines that indicate that only a part of it is doors. Swinging doors should still work with what is visible, however, as far as I can tell.
For it to swing out or slide, it would likely be useful with some sort of knob or handle to grab the door with. It might also require magic such that the doors cannot be opened physically, only by using magic, which would be a handy security mechanism if the holes in the doors have glass in them. And some sort of security mechanism would be especially valuable for wizard books.
Humm, then maybe the shelves inside the desk shouldn't be at the same height. Like one side we could peek that there is more below or up and it obvious that there is more to the shelves than bad design for the upper one.
I kind of like riddles, such as with having a pear inside a bottle where the opening of the bottle is far too narrow for the pear to pass through. Once you learn how it is done, it makes perfect sense.
Well, everything on that shelf behind him sets off my skyrim looting instincts. And that's a really cool staff. And that shelf might have books missing from my quest to collect one of every book... Time to find a bucket and strip this room bare.
Possible, but I think the majority vote is that the faun has very good reason to want to be anywhere but close when that letter is opened. No definite idea what, but it is likely to be more than being bored when he has to wait so long.
To be fair, for a lot of lesser Fae it'd be very on brand to be too impatient to want to wait hours doing nothing if it was at all avoidable. Greater Fae tend to be more the, centuries are but moments type, but the more down to earth ones like satyrs tend to be... flighty.
I really love the attention to detail you have in your comic! Like how the bookshelf has precisely one missing book, likely the one the wizard is currently using! Fantastic stuff :).
sorry ... sorry ... i keep having flashbacks to that ONE NIGHT when our DM went off the rails ...
Oh, so you were playing THAT kind of game ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
He is not an Istari, right?
The rest of me recognizes the desk is incredibly impractical and inefficient.
